A clearer handover starts before the build
A handover is easier when it has been considered from the beginning. The people receiving a website or system need to understand what they own and how the work continues.
Name the deliverables
Write down which pages, features, assets and documentation are included. Separate agreed work from ideas for a later stage. Make review checkpoints visible so that feedback arrives while it can still guide the result.
Plan access and responsibilities
Decide who controls hosting, domains and third-party accounts. Use appropriate access instead of sharing passwords in ordinary documents. Identify the person responsible for renewals, content updates and any ongoing support.
Leave useful next steps
A practical handover explains the common tasks, known limits and route for future changes. Include the relevant source files and approved assets within the agreed scope.
DREAM BIT approaches handover as part of the project, with responsibilities and support discussed in the brief and confirmed in the agreement.
